Course Content

To deliver competence-based training and assessment in the selection, use, maintenance, and inspection of electrical apparatus in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 60079 series relevant standards.

On completion of the assessments, they are sent to the awarding body JTL for marking, and if successful the candidates shall be issued with a certificate of core competence by JTL.

Pre-requisites

Candidates for the course should be competent electrical and or instrument craft personnel.  You are required to bring with you Photo Identification and suitable evidence that you are a fully qualified electrical or instrument craftsperson.  Ideally this could be an NVQ L3, Apprenticeship Cert/Indentures, or an ECS-JIB Gold Card.  Alternatively, an employer support letter may be sufficient – a template for this can be provided on request.

Course Duration

The course is 5 days in duration.

Optimum Number

A maximum of 8 candidates per course.

Course Language

The course is delivered in English. Therefore, candidates must have a good standard of both written and verbal English.

Courses can be delivered in other languages however, this would need to be discussed prior to acceptance on the course. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make Roxby aware of this requirement.

Training Aids

A Roxby presentation using course hand-outs based on the EEMUA Publication 186 – A Practitioners Handbook and Publication 214 – The Toolbox Guide. This is followed with practical training and assessments.
