Course Content

To deliver competence-based training and assessment in the selection, use, maintenance, and inspection of non-electrical (mechanical) equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the requirements of IEC 60079 and ISO 80079 series of relevant standards.

On completion of the assessments, they are sent to the awarding body for marking, if successful, the candidates shall be issued with a certificate of core competence by CompEx Certification Limited.

Pre-requisites

Candidates for the course should ideally be mechanical / multi-skilled craft personnel.  You are required to bring with you photo identification and suitable evidence that you are a mechanical craftsperson.  Ideally this could be a NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship Certificate / Indentures.  Alternatively, an employer supporting letter may be sufficient – a template for this can be provided on request.

Course Duration

The course is of 3 days in duration. Candidates will be required for 2 days training followed by the final date being the 3rd day whereby assessments will be completed. 

Optimum Number                       

Optimum number of 6 candidates per course.

Course Language

The course is delivered in English. Therefore, candidates must have good standards of both written and verbal English.

Courses can be delivered in other languages however, this would need to be discussed prior to acceptance on the course. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make Roxby aware of this requirement.

Training Aids

A Roxby presentation, using course handouts, the EEMUA Publication 214 A Toolbox Guide and demonstration / instructional videos. This is followed by theory and practical assessments.
