Course Content

Aim

The aim of the course is to provide mechanical personnel with the knowledge of potentially explosive atmospheres which provides successful candidates with a nationally recognised certificate of core competence which corresponds with Unit Ex11.

Pre-requisites

Course candidates should have a mechanical background.

Course Duration

The course is of 3 days in duration.

Optimum Number                       

Optimum number of 9 candidates per course.

Course Language

The course is delivered in English. Therefore, candidates must have good standards of both written and verbal English.

Courses can be delivered in other languages however, this would need to be discussed prior to acceptance on the course. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make Roxby aware of this requirement.

Training Aids

 PowerPoint, videos, photographs, information handouts.

 Assessment

 Day 3 of the course includes an online multichoice question assessment, for which course candidates are allowed 1 ½ hours.

Additionally, two practical assessments are undertaken; a fault-finding inspection of a pump motor unit; and a pressure installation task on a pipe rig. Duration for both exercises combined totals around 2 hours.
