The Foundation Plus course delivers the main CompEx introductory subjects such as ATEX, DSEAR and general hazardous area theory. The course aims to assist those who have not worked in or have limited experience of working in hazardous areas offering those who attend the opportunity to practice necessary skills and have them assessed.
On completion of the assessments, these are sent to the awarding body for marking, if successful, the candidates shall be issued with an underpinning of knowledge certificate by CompEx Certification Limited.
The course is an ideal introduction for people considering taking CompEx units Ex01-Ex04 (Gas & Vapours) and Ex05-Ex06 (Dust) at a later date or those who are not yet or recently qualified technicians.
The course is 2 days in duration and can be delivered in centre at our Stockton / Stallingborough facilities, or alternatively delivered on customer premises – facilities permitting.
Please note that day 2 can vary depending on the assessment time slot / schedule.
A maximum of 10 candidates per course.
The course is delivered in English. Therefore, candidates must have a good standard of both written and verbal English.
Courses can be delivered in other languages, however this would need to be discussed prior to acceptance on the course. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to make Roxby aware of this requirement.
A Roxby presentation using course handouts, the EEMUA Publication 214 A Toolbox Guide and demonstration / instructional videos. This is followed by practical training and two short assessments comprising of a practical and an online multiple-choice assessment.
